Pentecostal Grace

On the day of Pentecost, seven weeks after Jesus’ resurrection, the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them, and it filled the house where they were meeting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability….and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles…and the Lord added to the Church ’ Acts 2:1-4,43,47

I get so thrilled to discover that God is not partial with the outpouring of His Spirit as was given in the prophecy of Joel.

The book of the Acts of the Apostles provides an eyewitness account of the flame and fire that birth and spread of the Church. Beginning in Jerusalem with a small group of disciples, the message travelled across the Roman Empire. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, this courageous band preached, taught, healed and demonstrated love in synagogues, homes, marketplaces and courtrooms, on the streets, hills, ships and desert roads. Wherever God sent them, lives and history were changed. The grace that came with Pentecost was evenly distributed on both men and women! They all made good and effective use of the grace of God. Women opened up their homes for prayers as much as they committed themselves to prayer; they were hospitable and by their good deeds won many to Christ.

Today, you need to put yourself in the place of the disciples; identify with them as they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and experience the thrill of seeing thousands respond to the gospel message. Sense their commitment as they gave every ounce of their talents and treasure to Christ. Their spirit-led boldness took advantage of every opportunity to tell of the crucified and risen Lord. The grace that came at Pentecost was maximally used to advance Christ’s Kingdom.

It is the same grace that we have received; the twenty first century Christian should not do less than what the early Church Christian did. In some instances, the twist is the case, the grace of Pentecost is used for personal gains rather than Kingdom gain. The disciples maximized the Pentecostal grace for Kingdom growth. Their generation knew their impact.

How much do you maximize God’s grace to impact your generation? How much of the grace upon your life impacts on the progress of the gospel and the advancement of God’s Kingdom? Is the grace consumed upon yourself or invested in the Kingdom?

Make profits for the Kingdom. Maximize grace for Kingdom increase!
